Kelpwings, also known as Kelplings, are a dragon species created by Kelpwing in 2022.

The Kelpwings are a dragon species originally inspired by Wings of Fire's Seawings and Leafwings. This has changed, though, as their design and story have evolved beyond the bounds of possibility in the Wings of Fire universe.

As of now, Kelpwings are also interchangeably called Kelplings. This is was set into motion in about late 2025 when I discovered the existence of a similar closed species also called Kelpwings by Wishfawn.

I do not wish to engage in any "who owns this" argument here. The name will stay.

My users across various socials are usually "kelpwing", "kelpwings", "kelpwingy", or "kelpy" which should be enough to show how much significance this means to me.
